On Friday, February 1st, 2019, the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the RF President in Volga Federal District and the Governor of Penza region attended the presentation of companies of the “BioMed” regional cluster, which, inter alia, covered the achievements of the “MedEng” scientific production enterprise.
Within the working visit, the officials examined high-tech medical article production sites, laboratories of biomaterial processing and output, organized by the “Cardioplant” company. The guests highly evaluated manufacturing lines of the “Endocarbon” enterprise creating endoprosthetic articulations and intervertebral disk prostheses, as well as the production of coronary stents and balloon catheters by the “NanoMed” company.
Besides, the examination route included an exhibition of produced implantable medical articles and biomaterials, laboratories and production sites, located in “clean rooms” of the technopark.
Sergey Evdokimov, executive manager of “MedEng” corporation elucidated that the innovation materials were applied not just in cardio surgery, but in other fields of medicine as well. For example, in dentistry, in particular, Penza’s biomaterials make it possible to conduct dental prosthetics more efficiently.
The Head of Penza region informed the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the RF President in Volga Federal District about the participation of regional biomedical cluster’s companies in federal programs, and emphasized that on the basis of the “Rameev” technopark enterprises manufacture unique products for Russia, which successfully compete with foreign counterparts due to their high quality and lower cost.
According to Igor Komarov, these results comply with the objective set by the President of the Russian Federation regarding manufacturing of high-quality Russian products.
«We are ready to develop the fields of knowledge-intensive production created on the basis of Penza’s biomedical cluster, to take even more active part in federal programs” – emphasized Ivan Belozertsev having pointed out that the enterprises of Penza had been supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
In the course of the visit the officials considered a possibility of “BioMed” company’s participation in the federal program supporting new research and education centers created in regions of Russia.
“We have a lot to offer, in Penza region researchers work together with manufacturers and universities. It is important for the region to develop the biomedical field” – ascertained the Governor.
