To prevent bees from dying a regional law will be revised in Penza region.
Issues of bee keeping development were discussed at a meeting under the chairmanship of the Governor in Penza State Agrarian University on Wednesday, March 13th, 2019.
“I receive complaints from bee keepers about mass dying out of bees during chemical pest control on agricultural fields, and it is a serious problem, - noted the Head of the region. – Of course, the crop yield is extremely important, but bee keeping business must not bear losses. We need to find a civilized and effective solution”.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Penza region is preparing a package of documents to amend the regional law “On bee keeping” which regulates interrelation between bee keepers and plant breeders in the subject matter.
“The revised law should be enacted in short term, - emphasized the Governor. – If infringements are recorder and a complaint is filed – the guilty party must be made accountable. The agricultural supervision agency must actively work this problem out”.
The Head of the region also offered bee keepers to state their proposals on the development of the said sector.
“The President of Russia set an objective to preserve people’s health and prolong their lives. To a great extent the solution of this task is promoted by healthy nutrition, and honey is a very good product for health, - he highlighted. – We are ready to support novice bee keepers by offering grants, facilitating the entry of Penza producers into trade networks, as well as designing modern attractive packing”.
keeping must be developed as it is an opportunity for citizens living in rural
areas to work and make money, whereas for consumers of their goods – to
purchase high-quality products” – summarized Ivan Belozertsev.
