At the daily briefing, the governor ordered to establish a project office including Penza business representatives, who are interested in entering foreign markets. The briefing was held in the Government of the Penza region on Monday, February 19, 2018.

Ivan Belozertsev informed the participants of the briefing that he took part in the discussion of the topic “Export in the strategy of developing agroindustry in the regions” at the personal invitation of Aleksandr Tkachyov, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

“The supply geography of agricultural products manufactured in the region for export extends every year. At the same time, I believe that we do not use our potential in full,” the head of the region expressed his viewpoint.

“Experts noted robust growth in exports of sugar, pork, poultry, vegetables, ice cream and several other items. The significant export potential of the confectionery industry was also mentioned. These are the areas where we can substantially increase our production volumes,” he emphasised.

Ivan Belozertsev set the targets of promoting close cooperation with the Russian Export Centre and creating a project office at the regional level. The project office should include the representatives of Penza business, both in agricultural sector and in industry, who are interested in breaking into foreign markets.

“We produce high-quality goods in the Penza region. In particular, this applies to processing agricultural products. But the promotion of our goods is not sufficient. Therefore, it is necessary to create brands, actively present our products with a view to maintaining export supplies as well,” he added.

The governor ordered to develop and adopt a regional programme on supporting exports of Penza enterprises, which will allow intensifying the promotion of local products in foreign markets.
