Penza region delegation participates in leading Russian Congress of Traumatologists and Orthopaedists

The Penza delegation takes part in the 11th All-Russian Congress of Traumatologists and Orthopaedists. It is held at Expoforum exhibition centre in St. Petersburg from 11 to 13 April 2018.

The delegation includes business representatives of Biomed Production Engineering Cluster and Centre for Cluster Development, as well as medical practitioners from the regional health care institutions.

The congress is generally organised every 4 years. It is a significant event for the Russian professional association of traumatologists and orthopaedists. The critical issues of developing medical science and practice are discussed at the congress.

The congress is primarily aimed at integrating efforts of the professional association and government institutions to address priorities in practical health care and applying advances and breakthroughs of medicine.

The large-scale exhibition of foreign and Russian manufacturers of medical products for traumatology and orthopaedics is arranged within the congress. The platform of Penza Biomed Cluster features the sample products of regional enterprises, such as MedInzh Ltd, Titanmed LLC, Penzaimplant LLC, Endokarbon LLC, and Parafarm LLC.

Within the scientific part of the congress, Andrey Kibitkin, Head of the Traumatology and Orthopaedics Department at N.N. Burdenko Clinical Hospital of the Penza Region, delivered the report titled “Carbon Friction Pair in Hip Joint Endoprosthesis Replacement”. The report was prepared with input from representatives of Penza State University Medical Institute and the regional production enterprises of Biomed Cluster.

The organising committee of the forum commended the R&D products of Penza scientists and experts. They were ranked third in the category “The Best Poster Presentation” of the All-Russian Congress.
