Currently, the company operates under previous arrangements in three sub-districts of the Penza region. The Konoplex Group is engaged in cultivating and processing of industrial hemp (also known as Cannabis Sativa). Up to now, approximately 5 thousand hectares have been brought into cultivation. 3100 hectares have been sown with hemp in 2018.
The line for cold pressing and packing of vegetable oil was launched. The range of products contains hemp oil, pumpkin seed oil, mustard oil, linseed oil, sea-buckthorn oil, and sunflower oil. Related products include hemp seeds, oilseed meal, and flour.
The next stage of the production development in the region is to manufacture fibre from industrial hemp and to implement a project for its advanced processing. The parties discussed the terms of establishing an industrial plant to produce goods from the above-mentioned technical crop.
“Major Russian and foreign investors work in the Penza region. They benefit from favourable environment, state support, and tax preferences that we provide for evolving enterprises, which increase their production in the long run,” the governor specified.
“The Konoplex Group has very good prospects for business development in the Penza region. We have sites for constructing plants, which are equipped with utility infrastructure. There is the opportunity to expand the planted areas. It is important for us to open new enterprises and create jobs. We will ensure support of the regional government. In addition, we are ready to assist in marketing of the products,” he explained.
The meeting participants agreed on the procedure of further cooperation and identified the specific measures to establish a new processing facility.
