RF prime minister Dmitry Medvedev signed the resolution on creating the PDA ‘Zarechny’ in the Penza region.
The PDA, according to the signed document, will benefit from free customs area, as defined by the Eurasian Economic Union.
The special legal environment for entrepreneurial activities has been established for businesses in wood processing, wood and cork produce, excluding furniture making; businesses in non-metal mineral produce, metal products, excluding machines and equipment; computer, electronics, optics, and electrical equipment businesses.
Apart from that, favourable conditions could be provided for companies in car repairs and equipment installation, software development, as well as consulting services in these spheres, IT and R&D sectors.
Commenting on the event which has become a logical conclusion of several years’ work by the regional government, the governor stressed the point that acquiring the status of Priority Development Area by Zarechny will be beneficial for the economic development of the whole region.‘We will witness a powerful positive effect for the whole Penza region as PDAs encourage the growth of other municipal units by strengthening the economic connections with businesses,’ he said.
