The governors of the Penza and the Ulyanovsk regions met on September 7th, 2018 in Ulyanovsk to discuss the progress of cooperation between the two reions.
The history of collaboration started in 2017, when the agreement on trade, science, industry and cultural cooperation was signed. Later, in February 2018, Ivan Belozertsev and Sergey Morozov signed the further cooperation plan. Some of the planned projects have already been set into action.
The visit of Ivan Belozertsev coincided with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Ulyanovsk region. Penza governor expressed his congratulations and wished the success in social, economic and cultural development of the region.
He also added that he is happy with the progress of the development of relations between the regions as many points of common interest have been found in economics and social spheres. The cooperation led to the establishment of the Business Cooperation Council, increase of cultural exchange, notably amongst the museums of the region, growth of tourism.
‘We are pleased with using the experience of the Ulyanovsk region in processing the business documents related to the public utilities connection,’ noted Ivan Belozertsev.
Sergey Morozov commented on the high quality of healthcare provision in the Penza region. He also added that more than 700 people from the Ulyanovsk region visit Penza healthcare centres each year.
Both governors agreed that the joint work opens new perspectives for the development of the Penza and Ulyanovsk regions.
