The ceremony was held in Moscow on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 as part of the "Transport Week - 2017".
The award given to the Governor of the Penza region by the Minister Maxim Sokolov was a high evaluation of the successful implementation of the priority project "Safe and Qualitaty Roads" in the region.
Based on the results of the final rating of 2017, the Penza region was included in the top three among the subjects of the Russian Federation becoming the second along with the Saratov and Astrakhan regions.
After the ceremony Ivan Belozertsev noted that the award of the Ministry of Transport is a general merit of the Government of the Penza region, ministries and departments involved in the project, three municipalities and road companies that carried out the work.
"We worked hard on the project, we started preparing for its implementation in advance, understanding how much work to be done in a few monthrepairings. We coped, and a high award is proof of this, " - the governor said.
"We will definitely participate in the project "Safe and Qualitaty Roads" next year, we still have a lot of questions on the roads, although some of them were fulfilled in the last 2-3 years, and we were able to bring the main lines to the normative state. Repairing of rural roads is an important task, which we will decide, " - the head of the region stressed.
