Ivan Belozertsev supports the idea of Penza volunteers to establish Volunteer School

On 21 February 2018, the head of the region announced the decision to triple funding for NPOs at the plenary session of the Regional Forum “Initiative”.

“There can be no progress in advancing the Penza region and Russia as a whole without the development of civil society and non-profit organisations, which work in various spheres of life, raise crucial issues that need to be resolved,” the governor remarked in his address to the participants of the plenary session.

“The Penza region has a good history of developing social movements. Our civil activists notify the authorities of many topical issues and protect the interests of citizens. All proposals outlined during the forum will be carefully reviewed. The initiatives introduced by moderators of discussion platforms are reasonable and feasible, and the decisions on them will be made,” he stated.

The representatives of civil society were able to present their personal viewpoints and share their experience in addressing challenges for ten days of the regional forum that was held not only in Penza, but also in all municipal sub-districts and city districts. Moreover, they were able to submit proposals on matters relating to the regional development.

Ivan Belozertsev recalled that the President of the Russian Federation prioritised demographic issues, i.e. population preservation, support for families, motherhood and childhood, youth initiatives, issues of developing volunteer movement, as well as strengthening civil society institutions.

“We will raise funds and, by 1 May of this year, we will triple funding for non-profit public organisations in the Penza region for 2018,” the governor announced his decision.

He thanked Innokentiy Dementyev, Deputy Director-General of the Presidential Grants Fund participated in the forum, for supporting Penza projects.
