The head of the region emphasized the important role of the major regional university.
‘During its 75 years of existance it has seen a lot, educated thousands of highly-qualified professionals who are now employed in various spheres of economy - industry, agriculture, economics, state and municipal government. A lot of its graduates have made a career in science, many became top managers of companies not only in the Penza region, but in other regions as well,’ said the governor. ‘All of this proves that they have found the right place to receive the knowledge and skills that furthered them in their careers, and their work is beneficial not only for the life in the region but for the whole country as well.
Your graduates are the pride of the university and the pride of our country,’ he said, addressing the university management, staff and students.
Ivan Belozertsev stresses the fact that the university is very flexible when it comes to the economic demands of the region and adjusts the training of specialists, introduces new training qualifications.
‘All of this allows to produce excellent specialists needed in economics, industry and business. The industry links are important. This is our common goal and we will work on it.’
The rector of Penza State University, Aleksandr Gulyakov, was awarded with the Order of Merit of the Penza region.
Vladimir Krevchik, the Dean of the Faculty of Instrument Building, IT and Electronic, and Igor Artemov, the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, were awarded for their important contribution into the development of the univeristy.
Several other professors and staff also received memorable awards from the governor.
