The participants of the meeting at the Teacher Training Institute of Penza State University discussed the results of the 2017-2018 training programmes for FL teachers at UK universities.
The teachers who completed the training are participants of the project ‘Educational services for professional growth. Overseas training for foreign-language teachers of secondary schools’ realized in Penza State University.
The round table discussion was moderated by the director of the Teacher Training Institute Olga Surina. Among the participants of the discussion were the first deputy minister of education of the Penza region Liliya Chashchina, head of the international relations of Penza State University Olga Meshcheryakova, head of the department ‘Foreign languages and the methods of teaching foreign languages’ Ekaterina Aleshina, teachers of the refresher courses.
The programme of teachers’ training courses in overseas schools and universities has been implemented for two years, it will be continued in 2019.
‘This programme is a powerful stimulus of professional growth for our teachers,’ noted Olga Surina. She expressed her hopes that teachers of other subjects will have the opportunity to participate in this programme in the future.The refresher courses for foreign language teachers from smaller towns and settlements of the Penza region have been conducted at Teacher Trainig Institute since 2017. Over this period 120 teachers have completed the courses, 24 of them received training in UK schools and universities.
