20 students and 30 experts from former Commonwealth countries gathered for the first time at “iVolga” to discuss international cooperation in the post-soviet space.
The event was divided in 6 strategic sections where 85 initiatives were introduced to be implemented by Russian citizens in former Commonwealth countries or in border territories.
According to the envoy of the President of Russia in Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, colleagues, friends and partners of the regions of Volga Federal district from different countries addressed with a desire to participate in “iVolga” forum themselves. It was a new initiative.
“I’ve convinced myself that at the present stage the project and the session are working out. Numerous discussions and prepared proposals may lead to real projects and accomplishments, thus forming cooperation between countries. Hopefully, there will be next steps. The prospect is to expand the number of participants, - noted Igor Komarov. – It is pleasant to see that here we’ve started talking franchise: it is extremely important to learn from each other. We will help organize similar forums in other countries as well, and we will have a lot to learn from our colleagues, interested in our perspective cooperation”.
The benefits of cooperation between Russian and foreign youth were also highlighted by the Governor of Penza region. “International cooperation is a great idea which has been supported today by the envoy of the President of Russia. We must cooperate to let young men and women from former Commonwealth countries present their projects and simply communicate. We shall not drift away from each other”, said Ivan Belozertsev to the journalists.
