Governor: Penza Oblast to Purchase More Computer Tomographs for a Reserve

The Governor visited Kamenskaya interdistrict hospital during a working trip to Kamensky district on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.

AleksandrGalkin, the chief doctor of the Kamenskaya interdistrict hospital, reported to the head of the region, that at that moment there were about two hundred patients in the hospital.

 "23 people were hospitalised with pneumonia, two more - with ARVI," the chief doctor said. "Oxygen is supplied to the beds in the intensive care unit and in the surgery unit, as well as in the primary vascular department and cardiology and neurology departments. We have allocated 25 beds for patients with coronavirus infection, and all the rest are for patients with other diseases. We do not stop emergency surgeries".

 "It is very important to balance the work of medical institutions and continue to provide people with available assistance of a high quality," Ivan Belozertsev said. "At the same time, we must take into account that we have to work in the conditions of the spread of a new coronavirus infection".

 "I will give instructions to equip 50 beds with oxygen supply for coronavirus patients, and I will also instruct the Penza Oblast Minister of Health to deal with the issue of recruiting medical personnel," he added. "Kamenskaya hospital is a medical institution with a good history and all the necessary medical equipment. There are two CT scanners, which allows the doctors to do up to 80 examinations per day, which is a good number".

 "It was the right decision to buy the equipment before the onset of the coronavirus spread active phase; these devices now help us a lot. The Penza Oblast will buy more tomographs, there should be a reserve," the Governor concluded.
