Based on the results of the socio-economic assessment of the Penza region in the Volga Federal DisBtrict for the period January-October 2017, the region maintains its leadership position in a number of production indicators.
The Penza region ranks first in the Volga Federal District for growing milk yield per cow in agricultural organizations, this indicator for the reporting period was 111.1%. Also, the region is leading in the District by the increase in the number of pigs, an increase of 114.4%.
The Penza region ranks second among the subjects of the Volga Federal District in terms of meat production. During the reporting period, 40.9 thousand tons of meat were produced in the region. The growth of this indicator compared to the same period last year was 133.6%.
According to the results of 10 months of 2017, the turnover of organizations by type of activity "Agriculture, hunting and forestry" amounted to 36.7 billion rubles, which is 9.6% higher than the same period last year. According to this indicator Penza region is on the third place in the District, by the increase of this indicator the region takes the second place in VFD.
