The new Health and Care Information System was appraised by Dr Andrey Komarov, Senior Research Fellow of the National Centre for Cardiology Research of the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia.
Dr Komarov visited the regional A&E unit, city hospital №14, vascular department of the Clinical hospital №5, and Burdenko Regional Clinic.
Dr Komarov highly praised the performance of the existing IT system. ‘It provides absolute transparency in relation to each patient, including those living in very distant regions. You need to implement this common Health and Care Information System into all the hospitals and healthcare departments of the region,’ noted the expert.
The Common Health and Care Information System was introduced in hospitals and clinics of the region in September 2017. By the end of the year, the medical information systems were fully integrated with the Public Services Portal of the Russian Federation GOSUSLUGI.RU.
Apart from solving the problems of healthcare providers, the system allows the patients to access the online healthcare support and increase the general availability of healthcare services.
The Healthcare Ministry of the Penza region plans to extend the existing scope of the system and introduce new services. New IT products will make it possible to simplify the process and speed up the delivery of treatment and care, and also increase the patients’ awareness.
