On Tuesday, September 1, 2020, the "First Step to Success" festival-presentation took place for the first time on the Yubileynaya square in Penza. The presentation brought together about 130 organisations of physical culture and sports, education, culture and non-profit ones. The programme of the event included demonstration performances by sports federations, creative teams and studios of the region. This year the "Quantotruck" mobile quantorium was presented for the first time at such an event.
The festival participants were welcomed by Oleg Yagov, deputy chairman of the Penza Oblast government, and Grigory Kabelsky, the Penza Oblast minister of fitness and sports.
"Today we are celebrating not only the Day of Knowledge, but also the first festival-presentation in the history of the Penza Oblast - "First Step to Success". I am very glad that many children and their parents have come here. I wish you to have a good time and to choose a particular field of your studies," Oleg Yagov said in his welcoming speech.
"More than 60 sports organisations are represented on this square today. The event is traditional, and on this day more than one hundred children join the Penza Oblast sports schools and federations. I hope that today will not be an exception, and many of you will be engaged in your favourite sports," Grigory Kabelsky addressed the participants.
The "First Step to Success" festival continued with performances by teams of sports schools and federations, and later - by a concert programme of the Penza Oblast creative teams.
