Aliya Mustafina, the famous artistic gymnast, the 2012 and 2016 Olympic champion, returned to competitions after giving birth to her baby daughter, and had a success in team competitions winning the silver medal at the 2018 World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
She competed on balance beam, uneven bars, and on floor exercise and together with Lilia Akhaimova, Irina Alexeeva, Angelina Melnikova and Angelina Simakova helped Russia win silver with a total team score of 162.863.
The gold went to the American team with 171.929 points and bronze to the team from China who scored 162.396. All three teams qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.
