Economy 16.08.2018

The project was discussed between the governor of the region Ivan Belozertsev and the First Deputy CEO of Russia’s Bank of Development Nikolay Tsekhomsky. The meeting took place on Augusts 15th, 2018 in Moscow.

Two large scale investment projects related to ‘Asia Cement’ and ‘Technochord’ companies have been discussed at the meeting, as well as the prospective participation of the Penza region in the national project of creating the network of wholesale, storage and distributioin centres, incorporating the partnership of state- and private owned companies.

The network creation will allow to simplify the wholesale process of home agricultural produce, provide additional cold storage space, give an opportunity to develop the accompanying business services, such as cleaning and packaging, etc.

The government-owned Russia’s Bank of Development is the major supporter of the project.

The network will include such cities as Moscow, St.Peterburg, Rostov-on-Don, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and later a number of other cities in Russia.

‘Building the wholesale, storage and distribution centres in the Penza region is economically viable as our agricultural sector is developing at a fast pace. The location of the region can also contribute to the success of the project. Penza is quite close to the country’s capital and borders on 5 other administrative divisions, in total around 47 million people live within the 600 km radius of Penza. One of the country’s largest motorways goes throug the region. I think we are ready to join this nationwide project,’ said Ivan Belozertsev.

While in Moscow, the governor also had a meeting with the representative of ‘Tetis Capital’ company that owns the former cinema ‘Rodina’ in Penza. The goal of the meeting was to discuss its possible use as a social and cultural centre.
