Ivan Belozertsev, governor of the region, met with the manager of the agricultural project and head of ‘Vostok-Agro’ Rinat Abuzyarov.

The investment project details the construction of a large livestock farm with the capacity for 2250 dairy cattle and also the facilities for silage production and storage, and milk processing facilities.

The project is perceived to require more than 400 million roubles investment and create more than 200 workplaces.

The first stage of the project will last two years. It will include building the modern dairy farm near village Evlashevo in Kuznetsk district of the Penza region. Up to 30 ha of land will be used for the purpose of livestock feeding. A silo with the capacity of up to 150 thousand tonnes will be built in the village Sukhanovka in the same area.

The second stage will also take two years, it includes building two dairy farms for 5400 dairy cattle in the village Sukhanovka, and the construction of a milk processing plant with 200 tonnes of milk per day processing capacity.

The third project stage involves constructing the butter manufacturing plant and building the export network of the manufactured products. Apart from the above-mentioned, the project also deals with building a poultry farm and a logistics centre.

The agricultural company is currently implementing the first stage of the planned project. According to the project manager, head of ‘Vostok-Agro’, the company now prepares design and estimate specifications, starts the construction and introduces laylands into crop rotation, achieving high crop yield already.

During the detailed discussion the governor of the region promised to provide support in developing this new farming complex.

‘We can put your project onto a programme of federal subsidy and co-finance it at the regional level. This will help to cover the capital costs of farm contruction. We will do that on the condition you complete what you promise,’ said the governor.

‘We are ready to provide necessary support, especially taking into consideration that it also involves social profits, creating workspaces locally. And I know that dairy farming is a very promising field in agriculture,’ stressed Ivan Belozertsev.

The project, on governor’s directive, will be given continuous support. The technology roadmapping will be drawn, and the regional government and the Ministry of Agriculture of the region will overlook the performance of this potentially profitable project.
