As part of the official visit of the the Penza region delegation in China, Ivan Belozertsev and Ivan Zhelokhovtsev discussed the issues of economic and cultural collaboration and the increase of Penza exports to China. The meeting took place on Monday, December 3rd.
The Penza governor told the Minister-Counsellor about the advances of agri-business in the Penza region, production output in crop and animal husbandry over the last year, the scope of agricultural produce, the ongoing investment projets, as well as established cooperation between the Penza region and the Chinese republic.
‘The cooperation agreements in business, research and culture have been signed with 5 Chinese provinces since 2001.
Currently a Beijing company is building two agricultural complexes - mushroom growing and agricultural produce processing. There is also a combined agri-business project related to the corn and sunflower farming, and later the building of the poutry-breeding farm,’ explained the governor.
Trade relations between the Penza region and the People's Republic of China are developing at a fast pace. Penza largest imports are equipment, textiles and electronics. The predominant Penza exports are grains, sugar and confectionary products.
During the meeting the parties also discussed the opportunities for new
investment projects and the increase of Penza exports to China.
