The innovative equipment for robot assisted post-op therapy was installed in city clinic N6.
The new equipment is a breakthrough approach in post-op treatment of patients who have undergone joint surgeries.
‘The robot assisted therapy has a number of advantages, as compared with the rehabilitation equipment that has been in use before. The most important difference is that the treatment is absolutely painless for the patient,’ explained the head of physiotherapy department of the clinic Tatyana Zinchuk.
The workload on the affected joint is distributed evenly and continuously without involving the joint muscles, which causes no discomfort for a patient.
The robotic equipment can be used the next day after the surgery. The treatment can be adjusted and fine-tuned depending on the joint and the type of the surgery.
The rehabilitation programme is developed individually, with specific work load, frequency, speed and scope of impact on the joint.
The new equipment has been developed for medical conditions affecting shoulder joints, elbow joints, fingers and palms, knee and hip joints. The clinical tests have proved its efficiency in restoring the joints mobility and normal function and shortening the recovery period in post-op patients. The new equipment worth 2 million roubles was subsidized by the government of the Penza region.
