On Thursday, 29 March 2018, the business meeting was held at the Penza meat processing plant.

The enterprise is a leader in meat processing and meat product manufacturing in the Volga region. Currently, the plant is slaughtering and processing pigs, manufacturing various meat products. They include sausages, semi-finished meat products, and by-products.

In 2018, there are plans to increase production and virtually to double the number of jobs.

“Cherkizovo Group is a remarkable example of how the large holding is developing and expanding business in the region,” Nikolay Simonov, Chairman of the regional government, noted. “The company intends to develop its enterprises in the Penza region. The governor supported this endeavour within the investment agreement, under which we plan to intensify our work”.

To date, two feed-milling plants, five pig-breeding complexes, Vasilyevskaya Poultry Farm and Mikhailovsky Elevator are fully operating in the Penza region. The holding includes all these enterprises in addition to the meat processing plant. Cherkizovo Group enterprises employs over 3,600 people in the region.

In 2017, Cherkizovo Group launched a major investment project aimed at constructing pig-breeding complexes in the region.

“We are to build two advanced pig-breeding facilities for fattening and nursery in 2018,” Igor Babayev, President of Cherkizovsky Agro-Industrial Complex, stated. “It will result in production chain upgrade that means developing feed production and expanding the slaughter line at the Penza meat processing plant. The launch of semi-finished products manufacturing in Penza is under consideration. Moreover, Cherkizovo Group prearranges constructing waste treatment facilities, which are essential if our holding expands production capacity,” he added.
