Penza scientists developed the technologies that have been put into practice in local hospitals. These technologies allowed to implant an artificial lens. The operation helped hundred of Penza citizens regain their eyesight.
These unique operations have been conducted by Penza surgeons by more than 7 years. Complicated hi-tech surgeries have become available thanks to the research of Sergey Kuznetsov, head of the ophthalmology department of the Institute of Continuing Education for Medical Practitioners.
Medical practices of Penza practitioners have now acquired a nationwide fame.
The Russian medical congress ‘Advanced Technologies of Cataract and Reffractive Surgery’, that took place recently in Moscow, included the reports contests that showed the latest developments in eye microsurgery.
Penza report, prepared by Sergey Kuznetsov and the physics professor Victor Evstifeev, became the first among the 29 contest participants.
Their work, entitled ‘Intraocular lens surgery and its influence on some physical parameters of the eye’ highlighted the theoretical basis and practital appcilcations of the type of eye surgery that has been sucessfully employed by Penza surgeons and helped hundreds of Penza citizens recover their vision and enjoy better quality of life.
