Several days before the Mother’s Day governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev signed a document on awarding the mothers of families with three and more children with the award for recognition of their hard work.
The ‘Medal of Motherhood’ of the 2nd degree will be awarded to 16 mothers of families with five and more children. The ‘Medal of Motherhood’ of the 3rd degree will be awarded to 82 mothers of families with three and more children.
The medals are are awarded by the Ministry of Labour of the Penza region, in accordance with the federal laws that support larger families.
In 2017 the medal was awarded to 66 families with three and more children.
In Russia larger families with three and more children enjoy the state support until the children come of age. The amount of benefits and tax credits varies but is never lower the stated minimum.
In Penza larger families can claim several benefits: family benefit in the amount of 330 roubles pcm; communication bills benefit - 180 roubles pcm in cities and towns and 110 roubles pcm in villages; housing and utilities tax credits - 50% of the regional standard, as well as some other benefits. The government support ensures equal financial opportunities for children notwithstanding the number of siblings they have and is a strong measure in controlling child poverty.
