In the framework of the SMART program specialists of Military Medical Academy named after S.M. Kirov (Saint-Petersburg) are to conduct training workshops on the grounds of the Center of Preclinical Examinations in Penza on May 30th, 2019.
SMART is a unique training and practical program developed at MMA to teach surgeons techniques of the most crucial operational interventions within the Damage Control tactics.
A mini-course will be delivered in “Rameev” technopark in the framework of the “InnoMed-2019” forum with its main purpose to share key skills and algorithms when rendering surgical aid in case of traumas.
According to the international statistics, every day around 3 000 people die in car accidents and 100 000 people suffer from traumas of various severity. The existing problems in the organization of medical aid to injured people on site, during evacuation and at medical facilities do not turn the scale towards a decrease of the amount of deceased and those registered as disabled people as a consequence of traumas. Concurrent and combined traumas often set an unsolvable problem before surgeons who are to make a decision concerning treatment tactics.
Which is the most rational way of acting in such situation – one of the main problems on the SMART course. Another objective is obtaining some real practical skills during simulations.
The educational course coordinated by colleagues from Saint-Petersburg will be attended by surgeons of Penza region, where they are to obtain necessary practical skills, and therefore this course will become a guarantee of raising the rate of saved lives and health of injured people.
