Ivan Belozertsev discussed the issue at a VC meeting with the heads of district administrations on Monday, March 2, 2020.
He drew attention to the fact that the number of infection cases is increasing worldwide. Federal Service for Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) confirmed the infection case on the Russian Federation territory.
The Governor stressed that explanatory work is of great importance for the prevention of infection, and instructed officials to ensure public awareness together with Rospotrebnadzor and the Health Ministry representatives.
"We should recommend people to refrain from tourist trips, including those with children, during the upcoming school holidays. Everyone should understand that this is a period that requires reducing the number of contacts and trips," the Governor said.
"We need to reduce the number of mass events held as much as possible," he said to the heads of administrations.
Ivan Belozertsev paid special attention to preventive work in educational institutions. The Governor gave instructions to purchase contactless devices for measuring body temperature for schools.
"We need to hold parent-teacher meetings in all schools with the participation of doctors and discuss issues of respiratory diseases prevention," he said. "People should not be frightened, but called on to be vigilant."
In addition, he ordered meetings with representatives of travel agencies, catering and hotel complexes, drawing attention to the need to control the hotel industry.
"Foreign citizens and residents of other regions come, so preventive measures should be carried out on a regular basis," Ivan Belozertsev ordered.
