The healthcare facility has started testing its employees to detect class G immunoglobulins and antibodies to the SARS-Cov-2 antigen.

"This study, conducted through enzyme immunoassay, allowsto detect the antibodies to the new coronavirus in blood," says DzhamilyaKurmayeva, deputy chief doctor of the Penza Regional Clinical Centre for Specialised Types of Medical Care.

Some of the medical personnel working in the "red zone" themselves have been sick with the coronavirus, which means they should have formed an immune protection.

It is the test for class G immunoglobulin that shows the titers of antibodies, which allows to determine the stage of the infectious process and makes it possible to calculate the intensity of immunity, that is, the level of immunity to this infection.

So far, the hospital only conducts tests for antibodies to medical workers. They may be the first plasma donors to treat severe patients with COVID-19.
