The issue of preparing educational institutions for the new academic year was discussed at a meeting held on Monday, August 17, 2020.
Today, educational institutions in Penza and Zarechny, Bashmakovsky, Belinsky, Issinsky, Kamensky, Kameshkirsky, Kuznetsky, Lopatinsky, Nikolsky, Pachelmsky, Penzensky and Shemysheysky districts are 100% ready to receive children.
All school food units are fully prepared to provide free hot meals to primary school children.
190 Penza Oblast schools cook meals on their own, and 88 others buy them from enterprises, organisations and individual entrepreneurs. The school food producing facility caters for 22 institutions.
The Governor demanded that the heads of municipalities see to the preparation for the school year themselves.
"Accelerate the process," Ivan Belozertsev addressed the heads of the districts listed as low-performing. "Everything should be ready in advance, so that it doesn't turn out that the school year is already beginning, but the repairs still has not been completed".
The head of the region also demanded that the educational process in schools should be organised in compliance with all standards of sanitary safety.
More than 21 million rubles have been allocated from the regional and municipal budgets to implement measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Schools should be provided with thermometers, devices for air disinfection, sanitizers and disinfectants.
"I draw the attention of the heads of districts to the fact that it is the task of municipalities to provide educational institutions with everything they need, and it is unacceptable to collect money from pupils' parents for this purpose," the Governor stated. "We must not let the infection spread in schools".
"We need to understand that if a child is unwell, he should stay at home, no other way. Sanitary safety measures must be strictly observed," Ivan Belozertsev summed up.
