"Healthcare" National Project: Air Medical Service Develops in Penza Oblast
Society 05.11.2020

An air ambulance with another patient on board departed to the Federal Clinic from Penza airport on Monday, October 26, 2020.

Air medical service is developing in the Penza Oblast thanks to the implementation of the "Development of the Primary Healthcare System" federal project initiated by the President of the "Healthcare" national project.

Since the beginning of October, five residents of the region have been transported by air to specialised medical centres in other cities.

During the flight, the patient is accompanied by anesthesiologists-reanimatologists of the Penza Regional Ambulance Station. For this purpose, specialists received additional training in providing medical care to patients in air transport.

The flight lasts about 3-4 hours, while patients' delivery by land transport would take 10-12 hours.

The SKOL airline company's pilots help carry out medical evacuation on the territory of the Penza Oblast.  The company uses small maneuverable helicopters equipped with a special medical module. On board there is a lung ventilator, a heart monitor, a defibrillator, an infusomat and all the necessary medicinal drugs.

About 15 million rubles were allocated to organise air medical service in the Penza Oblast, with 11 million rubles from the federal budget and 4 million rubles from the regional budget.
