The protocol of intentions between the government of the region, GC "Damate" and company Aviagen Turkeys was signed on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

The document was signed by Governor Ivan Belozertsev, Damate General Director Rashid Khayrov and the head of Aviagen Turkeys Clay Barrows.

The joint project provide for the creation of an enterprise in the region for the production of turkey hatching eggs. The new production is planned to be organized on the territory of the Nikolsky district.

The plant will be the first enterprise of this direction, built by Aviagen in Russia.

Welcoming the partners, the head of the region drew attention to the great experience and reputation of a foreign investor.

"Your company's capabilities in the supply of high-quality selection material are known all over the world. I am glad that after the last negotiations you decided to come to us and build a platform for the parent flock, " - Ivan Belozertsev noted.

Aviagen Group owns a number of production facilities in Europe and the US, and has a number of joint ventures in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia. The company supplies brands of ancestral and parental livestock in more than 250 poultry farms in 85 countries.

"The project is important for us, because the GC" Damate "increases the production to 155 thousand tons per year. I will be happy to support you in the implementation of your project, " - the Governor said.

"I hope that by building the first site, you will make a decision to continue this work in the Penza region," - Ivan Belozertsev addressed the head of Aviagen Turkeys.

Clay Barrows focused on the favorable investment climate in the region, which was the decisive argument in favor of the decision to develop business here.

"The Penza region is one of the most successful regions for us, so we came here. Initially, our project is designed for eight million eggs, but we expect to increase these figures three to four times, " - he said.

"Our company repeatedly raised the issue of creating genetic centers in Russia and in the territory of our region to ensure the security of the industry. And the arrival of such a company as Aviagen, the world leader in this field, guarantees to provide us with an incubation egg, " - Rashid Khayrov emphasized.

The plant is scheduled to be commissioned in 2019. Thus, the Penza enterprise will cover 50% of its own need for an incubation egg.

"Damate" is a visiting card of our region, the products it produces are known not only in Russia, but also in the territory of other states. I am confident that since the implementation of this project, thanks to joint work, the Penza region can become a world leader in the production of turkey meat, " - Ivan Belozertsev summed up.
