Yunarmy Members From 15 Regions to Arrive in Penza for Military-Patriotic Training Camp
Society 09.08.2022
On Thursday, July 28, the Ministry of Education of the Penza Oblast held a briefing on the military-patriotic training camps of the Volga Federal District "Guardsman", which will start next week in Penza.
High school students will participate in the traditional district Yunarmy event. They will be located in one of the buildings of the A. V. Khrulev Military Academy (Penza Artillery Engineering Institute), and sports events will mainly take place in Penza schools No. 78 and No. 79.
Oksana Milayeva, Deputy Minister of Education of the region, clarified that 14 socially significant projects are being implemented in the Volga Federal District, one of which is the "Guardsman".
"This year, after a two-year break, the military-patriotic training camp "Guardsman" is held on the territory of the Penza Oblast. For the first time, we are hosting teams from fourteen regions of the Volga Federal District. In addition, representatives of the Donetsk People's Republic will take part in the training camp," Oksana Milayeva said.
This year, the format of the project has been changed: now the "Guardsman" is not a single camp, but a series of military-patriotic training camps. They will be held from August 3 to 18 August. Theoretical and practical training in basic military disciplines (combat, general physical, shooting, parachute training, etc.), competitions in paintball, basketball, football, darts, orienteering, artistic performance competition, acquaintance with the main sights of the region are scheduled.
This year 380 children will take part in the military-patriotic training camps in Penza. Two tutors are assigned to each team.
The training camps will be attended by teams that have passed a multi-stage selection: at the municipal and regional levels. In the Penza Oblast in May of this year, military training "5 days in the army" was held in the "Birch Grove" health resort, where 60 young men were trained. 20 people have been selected from them, who will represent the region in the "Guardsman" project this year.
Maksim Ulanov, acting deputy head of the branch for military-political work of the Military Academ, noted that the format of the "Guardsman" has changed, but the essence of the project remains the same - it is patriotic education and the formation of civic responsibility among young people. Appropriate conditions have been created for this. He noted that since 2013, 51 Yunarmy members have expressed a desire to study at the Penza military university. Some "guards" have already become officers and serve in the army.
At the end of the event, all Yunarmy members will be provided with a set of uniform, wristwatches and other memorable gifts.
As the Deputy Minister of Education Oksana Milayeva told the media, a telegram channel "Guardsman" has been created, where operational information will be posted under the heading "Diary of a Guardsman".
