The discussion of the draft strategy for socio-economic development of the Penza region for the long term (until 2035) took place in the Round Hall of the regional government on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. Under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Penza region, Andrey Kulintsev, the participants considered the directions of the Strategy for the development of the construction complex, urbanistics, housing and communal services, mineral resources and ecology. Presentations of their projects in this part of the document were made by the representatives of regional Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Forestry, the Department of Urban Development and Architecture, and the Housing and Communal Services Department of the Penza Region. In the introductory speech Andrey Kulintsev outlined the main directions, goals and objectives of the Strategy, noted the main ways of the region's development in the long term, ways to overcome potential problems in implementing the tasks set in the draft Strategy. "We consider it expedient to choose the next development vector of the Penza region: this is the Strategy of advanced social and economic development, built on a balanced economy. Outstripping, because otherwise, we will not be able to respond to current, and most importantly, to future external and internal challenges. At the same time, the main subject of the Strategy is a person, " - the first deputy chairman of the regional government said. He stressed that the main objective of the document in question is to ensure a stable growth of the well-being of the population of the Penza region on the basis of long-term outstripping socio-economic development. At the end of the presentations, a lively discussion took place on the draft Strategy presented. Representatives of the architectural community, developers, representatives of the Higher School made proposals and remarks. All proposals and comments will be considered by the working group responsible for the development of the document. The draft of a new strategy for social and economic development of the region for a long-term period (until 2035) was developed in accordance with the request of the governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev. Based on the results of the analysis of the socio-economic development of the Penza region for the period 2007-2016, the results achieved in implementing the current strategic planning documents for the region, the draft document identifies long-term goals and priority directions for socio-economic development of the Penza region, also mechanisms for their achievement. In addition to public authorities and local governments, public organizations, the scientific community, and business representatives were involved in developing the Strategy: 12 sectoral and 2 agglomeration working groups were established to develop the directions of the Strategy. Achieving the goal of the Strategy is planned by performing the following main tasks within the framework of five strategic directions: 1. The Penza region is the territory of the advanced economic growth. 2. The Penza region is an attractive region for development business. 3. Penza region - the territory of comfortable living. 4. Penza region - the territory of culture and tourism, science and education. 5. Penza region - the territory of health.
