The Governor opened the III Agronomical Forum, which is held on the basis of the Penza State Agrarian University on December 14 - 15, 2017.
Representatives of more than 150 enterprises from all regions of the region, specialists from administrations of municipalities, suppliers of seed material, machinery and equipment gathered to discuss current issues of cultivation of agricultural crops in Penza.
Greeting the participants of the forum, the head of the region drew attention to the importance of improving the skills of farmers, studying the latest trends in the industry.
"We hold similar meetings so that you have an opportunity to communicate, share experiences. Technologies, approaches, weather conditions change, new processing facilities appear. In order to work successfully, we need to constantly develop, " - he said.
Ivan Belozertsev thanked the agrarians for conscientious work and high results.
"In general, the results of agricultural producers' activities this year are good - 2.5 million tons of grain, 2.3 million tons of beet, a good harvest of potatoes, vegetables. High rates and in processing of production. We occupy the first and second places in the Volga Federal District on many indicators, "-the governor specified.
"The Penza region is now known in the Russian Federation as a region where agriculture is intensively developing, and this is very important for the positioning of the region," - he added.
"I would like you to formulate problematic issues on this site, they need to be discussed jointly and to find a solution," - the head of the regional executive power addressed the audience.
Among the priorities of the next year, Ivan Belozertsev called the introduction of land in a crop rotation. This year, 57 thousand hectares of arable land were returned to circulation, including uproot of tree-shrub vegetation on lands with a total area of ​​13,000 hectares.
"By 2020, we must bring all the remaining land into circulation,"-  the governor said.
