The plenary session of the Russian Investment Forum was devoted to the investment policy and economic opportunities of the regions.
Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, delivered a report at the meeting
He focused on the current economic situation in the country and identified the priorities for the near future.
“We know the spheres where we should concentrate our efforts: first of all, they include creating stable and predictable rules for business, promoting investment growth, and further improving the business climate,” the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation emphasised.
“Budget investments should be certainly increased, primarily investments in human resources. We need high-tech medicine and modern world-level education. We also need investment in infrastructure, specifically in constructing high-quality roads, bridges, electricity grids, and engineering systems which form the framework for the economy muscles, i.e. modern production facilities,” Dmitry Medvedev specified.
He aimed the governors at identifying the growth points in each territory.
In the Penza region, one of the core drivers is agriculture.
The promising projects are implemented by industrial enterprises of the region, which demonstrate steady growth and increasing production volume.
The biomedical cluster and IT industry also have good prospects.
“We will continue to develop stable and favourable conditions for business, to support enterprises and to foster foreign economic relations,” Ivan Belozertsev noted.
