Governor presents state awards to residents of the Penza region

The solemn awards ceremony was held in the Governor’s House on Saturday, 28 April 2018.

Before the ceremony, Ivan Belozertsev congratulated those present on May Day and Victory Day and noted that social and economic development of the region greatly depends on the professional activity of each of them.

“Thanks to your work, the Penza region maintains the positive dynamics of macroeconomic indicators. Gross regional product rose by almost 13 billion roubles over the past year. Tax and non-tax revenues to the regional and municipal budgets increased by more than 5 per cent. These growth rates are good in the context of the challenging economic situation,” the head of the region clarified.

“The Penza region ranks 6th in the Volga Federal District according to the gains in income. Our industries are springing up. Based on the last year results, the index of industrial production was 102.6%, it is higher than in the Volga Federal District and in Russia as a whole. The region occupies the first place in the Volga Federal District in terms of yield of cereals and legumes and the third place in terms of yield of sugar beet. We started producing more livestock, poultry and milk. The Penza region leads the Volga Federal District according to the performance of milking herd in agricultural enterprises. In regards to meat production, it ranks second in the Volga region,” he stated.

The governor also reported on several major investment projects, the implementation of which will allow the Penza region to take the leading position in terms of production in the Russian Federation.

“Today we are building hospitals and schools, kindergartens and residential blocks, cultural and sports facilities. We are reconstructing roads and bridges, overhauling apartment buildings, resetting people from dilapidated houses, improving the urban environment and making it more comfortable for our residents,” Ivan Belozertsev specified.

“The work of each of you is essential, regardless the focus area, whether it is industry or agriculture, education or culture, health or social activities,” he stressed.

During the awards ceremony, 38 Penza residents were favoured with Letters of acknowledgment from the President of the Russian Federation and Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District, orders and honorary titles, honorary signs, certificates and Letters of acknowledgment from the Governor of the Penza region.
