The 2018 FIFA World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events in the world. The championship is eagerly awaited not only by football fans, but also by those who lacked interest in this sport, as this momentous event takes place in Russia for the first time. The organisers are expecting record attendance at matches, i.e. at least one million people.
The FIFA World Cup is held from 14 June to 15 July 2018. The matches will be played in 11 Russian cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Saransk, and Sochi.
Saransk will host the matches of the group stage: the national teams from Peru and Denmark will compete on 16 June, the teams of Colombia and Japan will meet on 19 June, the national teams from Iran and Portugal will play on 25 June, and the teams of Panama and Tunisia will compete on 28 June.
Taking into account the views of the spectators, the Ministry of Industry of the Penza region jointly with Bashkortostanskaya Suburban Passenger Company tackled the issue of including additional suburban trains between Penza and Saransk in the joint agreement on transport services in order to deliver fans to the 2018 World Cup matches in Saransk. The suburban trains will steam according to the following time-table (in Russian and English):

The following individuals are entitled to free travel:
– Spectators of sports competitions on the basis of the entrance tickets for a match or the documents confirming the right to receive the tickets for attending a match in the form established by the Government of the Russian Federation;
– Volunteers on the basis of the personal accreditation cards;
– Persons included in the FIFA lists that are sent by the 2018 Russia Local Organising Committee to the authorised bodies on the basis of the accreditation card of the 2018 Russia Local Organising Committee.
The travel documents for passengers who pay in cash and who are entitled to travel privilege are processed in the suburban ticket offices at the railway station Penza-1 station and directly in suburban trains.
The suburban ticket offices operate from 07:00 a.m. to 07:00 p.m. without service breaks.
The tickets are executed 10 days before the expected date of travel and just before the travel.
In view of heightened security and installed anti-terrorist regime, passengers are requested to have identity documents and arrive at the railway station well before the departure as they have to undergo security screening.
