The Penza branch of the Military Academy of Material and Technical Support trains military engineers to operate tube, rocket and missile artillery ordnance, ammunition, gunpowder and explosives, artillery devices, small arms and close combat weapons, automated control systems.
Nowadays, it is the only centre in the country for raising specialists with such skills.
Dmitry Bulgakov drew attention to the role of artillerymen in the army.
“The military unit cannot accomplish missions without them. The academy alumni are in demand at all times and in all places. The national Armed Forces eagerly await them,” he stressed.
According to him, Penza Artillery Engineering Institute graduates are highly educated and skilled. They have earned well-deserved recognition.
Ivan Belozertsev noted that the basis for achieving these results in academic activity is excellent teaching and learning facilities.
“Classrooms are fully equipped. The academic staff is experienced. All conditions for successful education are created here. Therefore, our military students take prizes in various competitions,” the governor explained.
The guests inspected training rooms, laboratories and classroom of weapons history. They also talked with the heads of the departments and studied the advanced made by Penza Artillery Engineering Institute researches.
Moreover, the new sports venue and museum of the institute history from its foundation to the present day were officially opened.
The ceremony of commemorating graduates who died in the line of duty was held near the memorial cross at the Military Temple.
