First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Alexei Vovchenko, Chairman of the Expert Council for Physical Culture and Sports under the Committee on Social Policy of the Council of Federation Konstantin Vyrupaev, Chairman of the Council of the Russian Federation Committee for Social Policy Valery Ryazansky, Olympic Champion in Athletics Tatiana Lebedeva, vice-governor of the Penza region Valery Savin took part in the meeting .
He noted that it is honorable for the Penza region to become a venue for the Council and the All-Russian Spartakiad of Pensioners. The Government of the Penza region pays special attention to the longevity and physical activity of older people. Numerous sports and mass events are held on the territory of the region.
The Penza region is one of the best regions in the country for the material and technical equipment of sports facilities.
"In all regions of the Penza region there are sports and recreation complexes, swimming pools are built in 24 municipalities. Much attention is paid to the development of open access facilities in the city - Olympic alleys, " - Valery Savin said.
In terms of the coverage of the population engaged in regular physical culture and sports, the region ranks 7th in the Russian Federation and 3 in the Volga Federal District.
Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy of the Council of Federation, chairman of the Union of Pensioners of Russia Valery Ryazansky stressed that the problem of involving elderly people in an active way of life is very urgent.
"We have seriously tackled the problem of gerontology. We helped to get the initiative group a special presidential grant for developing the propaganda of control over one's health, accompanying the complicated processes that people expect at an older age, the methods of behavior of the children of these parents. This - the efforts of a large number of people, first of all, the person himself, " - commented Valery Ryazansky.
First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Russia Alexei Vovchenko emphasized that initially the Government of the Russian Federation set the task not to reduce the implementation of the national strategy only to the social protection of representatives of the older generation, but to open all spheres that promote active longevity.
"The main result of the implementation of the national strategy is the creation of conditions for an integrated approach.The public services of all spheres should affect the representatives of the older generation, and not only in providing forms of social support," said Alexei Vovchenko.
The participants summed up the results and concluded that it was necessary to continue interdepartmental work together with the Ministry of Sport of Russia and the Ministry of Labor of Russia and other interested agencies and organizations in order to develop measures to popularize physical education among the older generation, to strengthen their health and, as a result, to improve their quality life.
