The grand opening of the VII International Symposium "Art Glass. Creativity of the Young "took place in the city of Nikolsk, Penza region on Friday, September 29, 2017.
Welcoming the guests of the event, the deputy head of the administration of the Nikolsky district Sergey Kayev noted the traditionally high interest in this unique professional symposium of artists in Russia on glass and crystal:
"Today we welcome participants from Luxembourg, Japan, Belarus. Professional glass artists' communities from Russia are represented by professors and experts from the Russian Academy of Arts, St. Petersburg Academy of Stieglitz. "
Director of the Penza Art Gallery. K.A. Savitsky Kirill Zastrozhny noted that this year a lot of participants came to the symposium - beginning artists in the field of glassmaking and students of leading Russian art schools.
"The professional skills of eminent artists from Russia and abroad, the long tradition of glassmaking at local enterprises, the creative atmosphere in the city of Nikolsk - a unique center for glassmaking - will enable young people to join the best artistic practices, create professional skills necessary for their creative implementation," - Kirill Zastrozhny said.
According to the Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Fokin, despite the fact that the grand opening was held today, the symposium participants have already started working on the last Wednesday, September 27.
"Artists have already begun to embody their creative ideas in the workshops of the enterprises of the Nikolsky glass cluster. The leitmotif of many creative works was the theme of ecology, "- said the art director of the Symposium.
The work of glass-making artists will last until October 6. According to the results of the VII Symposium, the traditional replenishment of the collection of the Nikolsky Museum of Glass and Crystal is planned, the tradition of placing architectural forms from glass in the city of Nikolsk will be continued.
The International Symposium in 2017 is held with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Organizational support of the symposium is provided by the Center for Cluster Development of the Penza Region.
