Experts from a German company “Hugo Mayer” – Stephan Mayer and Johannes Gebel - successfully completed the diagnostics and tuning of the Penza’s organ.
“This organ was assembled over 5 years ago. At the same time we guaranteed its regular service during 10 years. From that moment, once in two years we have assessed the instrument, adjusted and tuned it up as it is a very capricious instrument, very sensitive to temperature and humidity changes” – explained Stephan Mayer.
“Even the dust collecting on the organ’s elements may affect its sounding. Therefore, firstly, we assess the condition of the fan, the integrity of leather elements regulating the air supply” – added Johannes Gebel.
The director of “Penzaconcert” Andrey Mamonov thanked the experts for their service especially appreciating the personal contribution of Stephan Mayer – the director of the “Hugo Mayer” company which constructed the Penza’s organ. Every two years he comes to Penza personally to make sure the instrument is in good condition and to eliminate probable defects.
For the last 5 years the organ hall of the philharmonic hall has conducted over 600 concerts. Penza has welcomed organ players from 15 countries and 18 cities of Russia.
