Colin Andrews performed in “Penzaconcert”

The audience had a chance to listen to famous compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Cesar Franck and other great composers in the Organ Hall of the Philharmonic Hall on October 22nd. Colin Andrews, an organist from the USA, performed in “Penzaconcert”.

Starting his musical career at the age of 18, Colin Andrews has right away proved himself to be a versatile, formidable and outstanding musician. He a multiple winner of the International Contest of Organists in Dublin, and in 1993 he was accepted a member of the Royal Academy of Music in London as a recognition of his prominent artistic achievements.

Colin Andrews is often on tours performing on famous stages of the world, in halls of largest cathedrals of Taiwan, South America, Iceland, Finland, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, South Africa, eastern and western European countries.

Apart from concert performing, Colin is committed to teaching: he conducts workshops, reads lectures, teaches organ-playing technique and the history of organ music. Andrews holds a position of a musical supervisor at the First Presbyterian Church of the city of Columbus, Indiana.

Colin Andrews enters the jury of international competitions of organists. The musician used to be a national advisor and the President of the British Branch of the Incorporated Association of Organists. He was an organist and a precentor at the Episcopalian Church of St. Stephan in the city of Goldsboro, Northern Carolina, the USA, where he lives nowadays.
