In the Republic of Belarus, the music festivals held on January 13-15, 2023 in the Brest region have come to an end. Penza artists took part in them for the first time. The visit of the delegation was made possible thanks to the cooperation agreement between the Penza and Brest Oblasts, signed by Governor Oleg Melnichenko and Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Yuri Shuleyko in 2022. The regional delegation was headed by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Penza Oblast Sergey Bychkov.
During the Christmas holidays in Ivanovo, the international folk-art forum "Folk Art Without Borders" is traditionally held. In 2023, Honored Artist of the Penza Region Marta Serebryakova performed in a concert designed to strengthen the Slavic unity.
On the same days, for the second time, the Berestey Sleigh festival was held, initiated by the chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, Yuri Shuleyko. After Brest, the city of Baranovichi was chosen as the capital of the Berestey Sleigh – 2023. On January 14, the music festival gathered more than 30 thousand people. In the evening, the soloist of "Penzakontsert" Evgenia Tarasova, soloists of the pop-jazz ensemble "Express Band" Svetlana Bisyaeva and Aleksandr Yakovlev, the soloist of the Governor's Symphony Chapel Sergey Knyazev, and vocalist Dmitry Kabunin performed for thousands of people. On January 19, at 15:00, Penza will host a press conference on the results of the trip to the Republic of Belarus, where the delegation members will talk about their impressions.
