The International Arts Festival "Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk" will take place from July 8 to 14 as part of the Union State Days. This major cultural forum in Belarus has been held annually in Vitebsk since 1992.
Penza Oblast will be represented at the event by the creative team behind the documentary film "Ordered to Live" and the Penza Regional Puppet Theater "Puppet House."
As part of the festival program, the II International Social Cinema Festival "Common Living" will screen the documentary "Ordered to Live" on July 10 at the House of Cinema. The project by the House of Officers Cultural Center was filmed in 2023 through joint efforts of Penza Oblast and Belarus, involving extensive research to reconstruct events and trace the biography of partisan hero Aleksey Chertkov.
On July 11, the Penza Puppet Theater will perform the children's play "The Best Dad" at the "Puppet Quarter" venue in the Belarusian Puppet Theater "Lyalka." This marks the Penza theater's fourth participation in the Vitebsk festival, demonstrating active cultural cooperation with Belarusian colleagues.
The participation is organized with support from the Ministry of Culture of Penza Oblast.
