The V International Cultural and Educational Festival "Shkin-Opera" in Moscow was scheduled on Pushkin’s birthday.
By order of Governor Oleg Melnichenko, the region was represented at the festival by the Song and Dance Ensemble "Cossack Outpost" of the Penza Concert State Autonomous Cultural Institution (artistic director – Oksana Ezhova). The audience saw a unique program reflecting the richness of the culture of the peoples of the Penza Oblast.
The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture "ROSCONCERT," and the Russian Military Historical Society.
The cultural event took place in the ancestral estate of the Bibikov brothers – one of the oldest Russian noble families. This unique cultural event brought together music, literature, theater, history, and folk art. The literary heritage of A.S. Pushkin was a thread running through the festival's program in various musical genres: opera, classical and folk works.
Leading ensembles of the country performed on the main stage: the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after A.V. Aleksandrov, the State Academic Symphony Capella of Russia, the Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Regional Philharmonic, the Mari State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Erik Sapaev, the Brass Band of the Kolomna Philharmonic, as well as theater and film actors: People's Artist of Russia Viktor Nikitin and Honored Artist of Russia Dmitry Dyuzhev.
Deputy Head of the Department of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation for State Policy in the Humanitarian Sphere, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the "Shkin-Opera" Festival Nikolay Ovsiyenko highly appreciated the performance of the Penza ensemble during the awards ceremony.
