During 11 months in 2018, exports from the Penza Region totalled $ 276.4 million in value terms. Compared with the same period in 2017, exports rose by 27.6 per cent.
Penza products are marketed to 77 countries. In particular, items worth $ 144.5 million (52.2% of total exports) were traded to non-CIS countries, while items worth $ 131.9 million (47.7% of all exported products) – to CIS countries.
Food, industrial equipment, furniture and its parts, paper and cardboard products are the dominant export commodities.
Kazakhstan, Algeria, Belarus and Latvia are still the major foreign trade partners of the Penza Region.
In general, foreign trade turnover of the region grew by 16.7 per cent. It amounts to $ 520.5 million, and the trade balance is positive.
“Exports of goods from the Penza Region maintain steady growth in terms of supply. To a great extent, this results from increased number of enterprises selling products in global markets. At present, 397 exporters in the region are conducting international economic activity with CIS and non-CIS countries,” Sergey Kapralov, Minister of Economy of the Penza Region, reported.
He added that high export performance indicates the demand for and competitiveness of Russian products in foreign markets.
