The first deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Head of the region took part in the opening ceremony of a production unit for solid peroral medinices at “Bionsyntez” factory - a production facility of Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd., on Thursday, May 30th, 2019.

The unit’s capacity is calculated to be 2 billion pills per year. The high-tech complex makes it possible to create special conditions of drugs production.

“The company deals with one of the most important social problems – provision of our citizens with high-quality and affordable medicines, - noted the first deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Sergey Tsyb. – The implementation of this sort of investment projects greatly contributes to regional development. I thank the company’s administration and staff and also express special gratitude to the Governor Ivan Belozertsev and his team for active assistance to the development of Penza’s industry. I believe it’s by far not the last time we are witnessing the opening of new production sites”.

The governor called the opening of the new unit of “Biosyntez” a great event on Penza ground.

“It is obvious how great have been works performed, the facility is undergoing vast transformations, - he stated. – The volume of investments in this unit totaled around 800 million rubles – this is a serious investment. Modern equipment has been purchased. It is important for the drugs by Penza’s producers to be competent not just in the Russian Federation, but also abroad”.

For a great personal contribution in development of production best employees were handed honorary diplomas from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Governor of Penza region, as well as “Biosyntez” enterprise.

“Biosyntez” production company (Sun Pharma group of companies – the fifth company in the world regarding production of generics and a leading pharmaceutical company in India) is known as one of the largest pharmaceutical factories in Russia producing drugs in 6 medicinal forms. In 2018 the enterprise won a prize «For development of exporting in Penza region and promotion of export products». The range consists of over 160 articles of drugs. Over 60% of them are in the list of essential medicines indispensable to life approved by an ordinance of the Government of Russia.
