The meeting of Ivan Belozertsev and Alexander Brechalov took place in the framework of Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum on Thursday, June 6th, 2019.

The Governor noted that each of the regions possesses unique experience to be shared and exploited for mutual benefits.

In May 2019 Penza region welcomed a delegation from Udmurtia with a business visit aimed at getting familiar with the system of working with charity foundations and non-profit associations, as well as with the experience of organizing interdepartmental groups, in particular, dealing with support to women in difficult life situations who have decided to keep their babies.

“This way we have managed to save approximately 400 children in 4 months only, - stated the Governor. – Our experience was highly evaluated by the children’s ombudsman under the President of Russia Anna Kuznetsova. When she used to live in Penza, she was very busy with this issue and is well-aware of the details. We are ready to share our experience and willing to adopt yours”.

The administration of Udmurtia was also interested in Penza’s experience of holding charity theatrical performances featuring famous people of the region on a voluntary basis – officials, businessmen, journalists, public figures.

“Another path of cooperation between our regions may be the participation of Udmurtia’s companies (“Aksion”, SEGF) in the program of elevator equipment replacement in apartment blocks of Penza region. In 2018 within the program of elevator replacement in Udmurtia “Aksion” company delivered 71 elevators and has received positive feedback. Several enterprises of Udmurtia produce metal processing equipment. Here we see and opportunity of creating an interregional cluster and organizing barter between  “StankoMashStroy” OJSC of Penza and “Izhneftemash” JSC and “Kalashkinov” Concern” JSC”, commented the Head of the Republic of Udmurtia Alexander Brechalov.

The parties discussed opportunities for collaboration between regional industrial enterprises – Penza’s “StankoMashStroy” and “Kalashnikov” group of companies.

“Probably the most famous brand of Udmurtia for so many years remaining on the world arena and being the brand of Russia is “Kalashnikov” Concern – one of the largest producers of fire arms and ammunition, the flagship of arms branch. However the enterprise manufactures civil goods as well – such reorientation is very important for defense production enterprises, which are quite abundant in Penza region”, emphasized Ivan Belozertsev.

“Today on this meeting we also have the director general of “StankoMashStroy” plant, one of the most actively developing enterprises of Penza with its products highly evaluated both in Russia and abroad. I am sure that the enterprises of our regions will find points of contact and opportunities for cooperation”, summarized the Governor.
