According to the results of 2018, the agricultural production index at small farms and sole entrepreneurs of Penza region constituted 102,5%. Since 2006 the agricultural production index at small farms has grown 7,4 times.
The service of regional statistics claimed that the 7,4 times growth of the production index was the greatest among the regions of Volga Federal District.

High production growth rates in the sector of agricultural farms and sole entrepreneurs are provided by the efficient performance of state support measures for small farming entities.
Penza region successfully realizes the support measures for beginner farmers, development of family cattle-breeding farms and expansion of material and technical resources of agricultural consumer cooperatives.
For the period of the said measures realization, there has been allocated 890,7 million rubles from the federal and regional budgets.
In 2019, it is provided for to grant 179,3 million rubles to support and develop small farms.
