Export development is the most important state objective, Ivan Belozertsev

The Governor called Penza’s manufacturers to enter foreign markets more actively while holding his speech at the first forum of exporters “Regional export: opportunities, support, results” which took place on Thursday, October 24th, 2019.

Also, the issues of export were discussed by Alexander Vlasov, a department manager at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir Polukarov, vice-speaker of the Legislative Assembly, representatives of regional executive bodies and Penza’s exporting companies.

Addressing the participants of the forum’s strategic session, the Head of the regional executive power emphasized the importance of organizing export, the presence of a good potential of Penza’s enterprises to work in foreign markets.

“Export development is the most important state objective. The President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has mentioned it several times among the priority objectives. To achieve the best results in this area, we are to deliver products of better quality, to strive to enter foreign markets”, directed Ivan Belozertsev.

“We are talking about the competitiveness of a wide range of products: from agricultural products to educational and medical services. The amount of small and medium exporting enterprises must double in Penza region by 2024”, he outlined a target. 

The Head of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation specified that by the stated period of time there should be at least 900 companies exporting goods abroad. The agricultural export should reach 203 million dollars, and the volume of industrial product shipments – 359 million dollars. 

Ivan Belozertsev marked a positive dynamics of the regional external economic affairs.

“In 2019, the export from Penza region is flowing to 95 countries. The exported goods cover 73 commodity groups out of 97 possible according to the commodity classification of the external economic affairs”, informed the Head of the region. 

“The list of our partners includes Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Algeria”, he added.

Ivan Belozertsev called Penza’s producers to maintain a regular dialogue with representatives of the regional executive authority in order to consolidate their positions more actively in foreign markets.

“Do not grasp at the idea that our goods are worse than the foreign ones, it’s far from true. It is time to get used to the fact that we can manufacture good products and achieve high quality”, stated the Head of Penza region.

“We have to work jointly on this issue increasing the volumes of the regional export”, he summarized.
