According to the official information of the territorial statistics service, there is an increase in production indicators in the livestock industry in the Penza oblast.
For the period January-February 2020 in the region's agricultural organsations the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight amounted to 59.5 thousand tons, which is 12.6% more than during the same period in 2019. In February 2020 production amounted to 28.3 thousand tons, which is 5% higher than in February last year.
During the reporting period, the gross milk yield in agricultural organisations was 30.4 thousand tons, which is 16.4% more than in January-February 2019. In February this year, the gross milk yield was 15 thousand tons, which is 19.5% more than in February 2019.
Milk yield per cow of the dairy herd for the period January-February 2020 was 1331 kg, which is 22% more than in January-February 2019. In February 2020, this figure was 657 kg of milk, which is 21.7% more than in February 2019.
